FAQs

What makes you different to the average tuition service

What sets Rise Tuition above other agencies or tutors is our creative and personalised approach to teaching. Most of our tutors currently work in mainstream school so we have access to the latest, top-quality teaching and assessment resources and are well connected to the education system. You can be assured that with Rise Tuition your child will be in very capable hands!

Do you tutor children with special needs

Yes. Marilyn has special training in meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities SEND. Please contact us with your specific requirements.

Do you provide online tutoring

Rise Tuition doesn't recommend online tuition for younger primary aged pupils or pupils with SEND. Our knowledge and experience working with these pupils shows that tutors being present with the child allows for the most progress. However there are times when online tuition may work well for families. Please contact us at info@rise-tuition.co.uk to discuss your exact requirements.

Does Rise Tuition work with groups of children

For private tuition:

Yes. Ideally, they should be at the same age and ability level for the session to be most effective. If they are at quite different ages it's recommended that the session is extended to 1hr and 30 minutes at a minimum, this gives them at least 45 minutes of teaching each.

After School Classes:

Favourable rates are offered for children enrolled in the after school classes. Sessions are set up to cater for mixed age groups so siblings of different ages are able to attend together. Children are given individual work tailored to their learning needs and are allocated a set time to work with the class teacher as well as independently.

Do you work with individuals older than 11

Yes. Although Rise Tuition specialises in working with primary aged pupils, we do understand our style and level of teaching may be suited to individuals older than 11. This may be particularly true for individuals who have SEND or who may have had extended time away from education. Please contact us with your exact requirements.

How are payments made?

Payments are made via online bank transfer. We do not accept cash payments. You are however welcome to pay cash into our bank account. You will be invoiced once you have completed your free assessment. Payments must be made 48hrs before the start of your first lesson.

Are you DBS checked

Yes. Rise Tuition takes seriously that children must be safeguarded. Additionally, Marilyn is registered with the Tutors Association which ensures that she is committed to certain professional standards and has signed up to a code of conduct.
